Landscape Architect: Signe Nielsen
The shadow of six trees was precisely traced at certain times of the day on the bluestone paving from a New York quarry at six locations. They became visible as permanent silhouettes, carved in stone. As the trees and their shadows grow, the silhouettes will give the impression of time frozen. The name of each tree, and the date of each shadow tracing were carved into the bluestone along with silhouette itself, identifying a moment and leaving a historical record.
