Jacob Gaboury, Assistant Professor
PhD, New York University
Gaboury is a historian of digital media, studying the ways people have imagined, developed, and used digital images over the past seventy years. His forthcoming book is titled Image Objects, and it offers a material history of early computer graphics and visual simulation, told through a set of five objects that structure the production and circulation of all digital images today. He also works on queer and marginalized figures in the history of computing, as well as contemporary art and technology, and digital visual culture.
